Solveulator 2.0
https://solveulator.netlify.app/
I built a free BTME solving tool called Solveulator 2.0 for organizing Posey’s poem, interview clues, memoir terrain, and candidate locations in one place.
It has four main sections:
Candidate Tracker
A ranked board of possible locations, each scored against the poem’s fingerprint: water, bend/Hole, ursa, bride, gates, granite arcs, and “secrets of the past.” Each candidate also has hard constraints like dogs allowed, no fee, legal access, 2WD access, no special equipment, and no restricted recovery. If a candidate fails a hard constraint, it moves to quarantine.
Map View
All candidates are mapped. Marker color reflects solution strength, and clicking a pin jumps to that candidate’s card. Hovering over a pin gives a quick description.
Clue Analysis
The poem is broken down line by line using six lenses: literal, geographic, metaphorical, symbolic, historical, and directional. It also includes relevant Posey comments from interviews.
Book Terrain
A checklist of terrain features from the memoir, so candidates are tested against the physical landscape Posey repeatedly describes, not just against poem wordplay.
A quick note: this is not an answer sheet. The preloaded rankings are just a starting framework. If you disagree with any grade, interpretation, or ranking, change it. Your edits are saved locally on your own machine/browser, and the tool will update the scores, quarantine status, leaderboard, and map behavior based on your own evaluations.
The goal is to make the solve process more disciplined: compare candidates, expose weak assumptions, quarantine bad fits, and keep the hunt from turning into pure confirmation bias.
